HENKER, Otto. (Dubuque, IA, Nov. 5, 1889--1982). As a boy of thirteen, Henker's artistic ability was well enough developed that some of his watercolor works were chosen for exhibit at the World's Fair in St. Louis. His father was so impressed by this honor, that he gave the boy a two-week trip to St. Louis and repeatedly visited the educational exhibit to observe his son's work.
Otto Henker graduated from the BAYLESS BUSINESS COLLEGE and immediately went to work for the GERMAN SAVINGS BANK. He left banking in 1918 to join his father Herman, his uncle Fred, and Ed Heuclin in business with ROOSTER FEEDS. In time he took over control of the business. Henker retired in 1955.
