HARNEY, Lester M.
HARNEY, Lester M. (Lenox, SD, July 27, 1904--Dubuque, IA, Jan. 5, 1988). A graduate of the University of South Dakota, Harney was one of the first to be inducted into the university's Athletic Hall of Fame.
Harney moved to Dubuque in 1939 and became the local manager of SEARS ROEBUCK AND COMPANY. He served twenty-four years on the Dubuque Airport Commission and was its chairman. Harney was a charter member of the University of South Dakota Heritage Club, the 330 Club of the DUBUQUE SHOOTING SOCIETY, and served on the board of directors of the Dubuque Red Cross.
