GREAT GIVE DAY. In May, 2014 the COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF GREATER DUBUQUE held its first "Great Give Day" and raised over $205,000 for more than fifty not-for-profit organizations. The 24-hour event in which individuals could pledge of charities listed online received 1,959 gifts. (1)

In its eighth event, the Great Give Day in 2021 raised $357,289 with 2,734 gifts. The campaign also helped a record 182 nonprofits from Dubuque, Allamakee, Clinton, Clayton, Delaware, Jackson and Jones counties. During the day, participating organizations competed for $32,750 in bonus prizes. First place for the most donors was Camp Courageous of Iowa. Since 2014 the Great Give Day raised over $2.6 million.
