GOMER'S
GOMER'S. Steve "Gomer" SMITH purchased the Cardinal Tap on University in 1975. With his brother Joe, a building contractor, he remodeled and added to the building. His belief that a bar would do well if in a location near the campus of LORAS COLLEGE, proved correct. Smith was a successful businessman at the age of 26. (1)
The 1977 through 1989 Dubuque City Directory listed 1105 University.
