GLAB, Gene
Glab, Gene. (Dubuque, IA, Feb. 8. 1931--Dubuque, IA, June 14, 2011). A graduate of DUBUQUE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL and the Iowa State Teachers College (later the University of Northern Iowa), Glab taught at Monona High School from 1953 to 1956 before returning to Dubuque. He taught thirty-six years at Dubuque Senior High School before retiring in 1992.
From 1957 to 1975, Glab was involved with coaching track and cross-country. In 1962 he assisted in establishing the Tri-State Relays. Regarded as one of the state's best basketball officials, he was inducted into the Iowa High School Hall of Fame in 1991. In 1995 he was inducted into the Dubuque Senior High School Hall of Fame.
