GILLOON, Arthur F.
GILLOON, Arthur F. (Dubuque, IA-- ). Gilloon, a partner in the Dubuque law firm of Gilloon, Wright & Hamel, P.C., was a 1975 honors graduate of the University of Notre Dame and a 1978 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Law. He was licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts in Iowa, the state courts of Wisconsin, the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Gilloon was a founding board member of DUBUQUE COUNTY RIGHT TO LIFE, INC., and was a member of Dubuque County Right To Life's Speaker's Bureau. He spoke on a wide variety of topics related to life issues.
Gilloon was the first president of the Dubuque County Mental Health/Mental Retardation/ Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board and served as Treasurer of the Dubuque Visiting Nurse Association Foundation Board. For ten years he was a member of The Finley Hospital Ethics Committee. He also served as a legal advisor to Birthright of Dubuque, Inc. Mr. Gilloon also served as DCRTL's president, vice-president, yreasurer, and secretary.
He taught grade school and high school religious education classes for seventeen years and also coached girls' basketball at the YOUNG WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION (Y.W.C.A.) for seven years.
