GIESE, James. (Dubuque, IA-- ). A graduate of WAHLERT CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL, Giese served in the U. S. Navy as a radarman. He attended LORAS COLLEGE and the University of Iowa , where he received a B.A. degree in economics in 1971. He married Cathy Conlon in 1975.

After doing construction work and then sales for Sears & Roebuck, he became manager of GIESE ROOFING COMPANY, a family owned business. In 1981 he left that company to start his own business, JIM GIESE COMMERCIAL ROOFING INC.
