FRIEDMAN, Clarence (Reverend) (Millville, IA, July 14, 1909--Dubuque, IA, May 2, 1986). Reverend Friedman, academic dean at LORAS COLLEGE from 1958 to 1965, began his first assignment for the church in Dubuque as chaplain at Immaculate Conception Convent.

Friedman joined the staff of Loras in 1941 as a teacher and athletic director later becoming a student recruiter. From 1950 to 1965 Friedman served as a chaplain and taught at CLARKE COLLEGE in addition to his duties at Loras. Upon his retirement, Rev. Friedman was named director of the Propagation of the Faith until he resigned due to poor health.
