FITZPATRICK, Thomas J. (Greeley, IA, Sept. 25, 1872--Dubuque, IA, Mar. 19,1916). In 1896 Fitzpatrick opened his legal practice in Dubuque and won election to the office of county attorney in 1903 and 1904. Considered a brilliant lawyer in the field of trial law, Fitzpatrick was the senior member of the firm of Fitzpatrick and Frantzen.

Fitzpatrick served as a state delegate to the Democratic convention in 1914. (1) He was a member of the board of education for five years and prominent in the DUBUQUE COMMERCIAL CLUB.

Fitzpatrick and his wife were killed in a one-car accident when their automobile went off the road near Key West. (2) The bulk of his estate had been assigned to his wife although he left $20,000 to his stenographer. (3)
