FAUST, William M. (Centre CO, PA, May 29, 1843--Dubuque, IA, September, 1884). Faust's parents came to Iowa in October, 1852. They lived in Delaware County for two years and then came to Dubuque County in 1854. Following service in the CIVIL WAR, he worked in the lightning rod business for nine years.

He opened the firm of Faust & O'Connell, dealers in groceries and provisions, on the corner of Clay and Ninth STREETS in July, 1875. (1)

Faust was elected to the office of County Supervisor in October, 1879 and during the last year of his term served as chairman of the board.
