FALKENHAINER DRUG COMPANY. In 1915 the announcement was made that Charles FALKENHAINER had installed a Walrus Iceless soda fountain in his drug store. Made of white marble, it had a twelve-foot counter with a 10-foot back bar inlaid with mirrors. In the center of the counter was the fountain with several electric bulbs which "stand out like the Statue of Liberty." Among other improvements was an automatic glass washer, an automatic mixing machine and an automatic electric "carbonizer." (1)

The 1922 through 1964 Dubuque City Directory listed 1097 Julien (University).
