DUBUQUE MARINA INC. The Dubuque Marina is located one mile south of the ZEBULON PIKE LOCK AND DAM. Operations began in 1957. When construction ended, dock space was available for 125 small boats. (1)

Dubuque Marina Inc., the company operating the boat harbor, announced in 1957 that work had been finished on a combined office, store and restaurant building next to the harbor. There was also another building to be used as a boat repair shop and a float to which boat owners could park to refill gasoline tanks. In June, slabs of concrete had been formed to create a ramp for launching boats.Plans for the future included a "well" to be used in lifting boats out of the water. A small crane had already been purchased. Parking for an estimated one hundred automobiles was being constructed. (2)

To the left of the protected harbor may be seen several of the privately owned floating fishing cabins that once offered seasonal fishing opportunities.
