DUBUQUE AREA CAREGIVER RESOURCE CENTER
DUBUQUE AEA CAREGIVER RESOURCE CENTER. On July 10, 2021, the announcement was made that the Theisen family, the owner of THEISEN SUPPLY INC., had pledged $1 million toward the completion of a resource center for nonprofessional caregivers. The COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF GREATER DUBUQUE announced its partnership on fundraising efforts to be established at Stonehill Communities.
As planned the Center would offer advisory and support services for people who were responsible for the care of loved ones. The Theisen pledge would go toward an endowment fund used to finance annual expenses. The Foundation was seeking an additional one million dollars to allow the fund to generate $100,000 annually. The completed Center would be the first of its kind in the area designed to help all primary caregivers whether for the elderly or ill. Space for the Center would come from construction Stonehill Communities had started for an addition to be used for additional administration and outreach. Although the construction was not expected to be complete until the summer of 2022, Stonehill officials had temporary space for the Center to open before the end of 2021.
