DIAMOND BROTHERS' "ORIENTAL SWEET SHOP". Opened for business in July 1917 at 823 Main, the shop was designed to reflect the "far east." The building required fifteen thousand dollars of renovation and the soda fountain another ten thousand.

Ice cream and other refreshments were served to patrons sitting in booths with individual table lights. Waiters worn the "varied colored garb of the orient" to "harmonize with the other decorations."
