DECKERT, Edward Etting. (Dubuque, IA, Apr. 2, 1941--Dubuque, IA, Mar. 5, 2011). The son of Donald Elwell and Mildred (Felderman) Deckert, Edward attended DUBUQUE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL, Grinnell College and received his Ph.D. in modern history from the University of Iowa.

As a freelance writer and independent researcher, he published numerous articles on American history.

Edward was a member of Masonic Lodge #125 AF & AM and honorary member of High Twelve International. He was also a member of FIRST CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST.
