DBQ PRIDE. Established in 2024, DBQ Pride had the goal of encouraging meaningful community building for local LGBTQ+ individuals through events and gatherings. Founders included Danny Sprank, member of the Dubuque City Council, Chuck Harris, and Sara Eliot Steuer, member of the MULTICULTURAL FAMILY CENTER who helped plan the annual MFC Pride Festival and month.

The new nonprofit wished to stem a trend for older LGBTQ+ people to move to larger communities because of a lack of connection here. DBQ PRIDE would be a partner with the MFC for the annual festival, but would host other events to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ persons.
