CORNELIUS, Steven. (Mason City, IA-- ). Cornelius served in Catholic education for thirty-nine years as a teacher and principal at many schools.

From 1972-1975 he was a teacher at St. Joseph Key West School. From then until 1982 he was the principal at St. Patrick's School. Beginning in 1982 and ending in 1997 he was the principal at St. Joseph the Worker School and directed the development of all-day kindergarten there. (1) He served as the principal at Resurrection Elementary School from 1997 to 2003 when he became the principal at Seton Catholic School in western Dubuque County. Cornelius was the chief administrator of HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC SCHOOLS until 2010 when he announced his retirement effective July 1, 2011. In 2017 he was a principal and recruiter in the archdiocese. In 2001 Cornelius received the Distinguished Principal Award from the National Catholic Educational Association. (3)
