CORBETT, James W. (Dubuque, IA--Dubuque, IA, Oct. 25, 1983). "Mayor of Eighth Street." Corbett, a member of the DUBUQUE POLICE DEPARTMENT, served twenty-one years at the corner of Eighth and Main STREETS, one of Dubuque's busiest intersections.
In 1963 Corbett was the recipient of an award from the National Police Officers' Association for dislodging an object choking a child in a car near his beat.
