CHICAGO-DUBUQUE MOTOR TRANSPORTATION COMPANY. A. A. Burgmeier and E. Grassel formed the Chicago-Dubuque Motor Transportation Company on January 2, 1929 with one truck making three round trips each week. In 1933 the company handled 15.2 million pounds of freight. In 1934 the company had an annual payroll of $20,000. The company also operated the Dubuque Motor Terminal used by four other transportation companies in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois out of Dubuque.
