BRODE, William
BRODE, William. (Dubuque-Chicago, IL, circa 1898) Many young men used the sawdust pile near Day's Mill to practice acrobatics. William Brode was one who became good enough to tour with the circus. With Art Brandon, Brode traveled with the Nickel Plate Circus.
While doing his act, he landed on his head in such a manner that an artery leading to the heart was strained. Although rushed to a hospital, he could not be saved.
