BOURG, Art. (Dubuque, IA, Dec. 3, 1896--OR, Mar. 28, 1959). Art Bourg, a first baseman, hit .300 or better 8 times in 12 seasons in the minors. He then struggled in his two years in the highest level of the minors (then called AA), failing to hit .250 either time.

In 1925 he managed the Durham Bulls in the Piedmont League to a second place finish during the year and then to becoming the League Champions. Replaced in 1926, he managed the Winston-Salem Twins in the Piedmont to a 5th place finish during the year. In 1928 he managed the Jacksonville Tars in the Southeastern League. Returning to the Winston-Salem Twins in 1933, he managed them to a sixth place finish.
