BERG AND RUEGNITZ. In 1900 Bernard A. Ruegnitz and Frank J. Berg purchased the drug store business of Frank Dennert located at 596 Rhomberg Avenue. The business stocked a full line of drugs and medicines. They also sold their famous X-Ray Oil which was claimed to treat all pains.

Mr. Ruegnitz tried to open a second drug store on 1800 Clay with Robert MacFarland. The business lasted from 1912 to 1913 when it was closed. The Berg & Reugnitz Drug Store continued in business through 1916. In 1917, Mr. Ruegnitz sold his share of the business. Mr. Berg continued to manage the drug store into the 1920s.

The 1911-12 and 1915 Dubuque City Directory located this business at 596 Rhomberg.
