JACK BENNETT. Jack Bennett began appearing the sports news around September, 1950 when during a stock car race at the DUBUQUE SPORTS BOWL, he was one of several drivers who rolled their cars. Of the sixteen automobiles which started the feature, only seven finished.

At the opening race at the Farley Speedway in 1951 before an audience estimated at 3,000, Bennett won the first heat. Reporters noted in 1952 that he had finished in the runner-up position for most of the season after adding improvements to his car.

Throughout his career, he was repeated listed as one of the Dubuque drivers who were serious contenders. He was still racing in 1957.
