ALTMAN, Franc K. (Dubuque, IA, Feb. 17,1890--Dubuque, IA, Sept. 23, 1945). Altman, the son of Franc W. ALTMAN, graduated from DUBUQUE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL, Phillips Exeter Academy, and attended Williams College and the University of Pennsylvania. He served in WORLD WAR I.
Altman served as treasurer of the CARR, ADAMS AND COLLIER COMPANY and was president of the Horse Creek Coal and Land Company of Charleston, West Virginia. Active in Dubuque, he was treasurer of the YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION (Y.M.C.A.) for almost twenty years, served as president of the DUBUQUE GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB, and was an active member of the Community Chest.
