STEINHAUSER, Norbert J. (Conception, MO, May 9, 1924--Dubuque, IA, Apr. 14, 2012) The son of Michael and Clotilda (King), Norbert studied chemistry at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., and worked in the chemical industry. While at Tidy House and Pillsbury, his inventions included Mr. Bubble, Funny Face Koolaid, Perfex laundry detergent and Sweet Ten sweetener.

Norbert honorably served in the Navy during both WORLD WAR II and the KOREAN CONFLICT.

He was an entrepreneur and owned his own chemical company, earning five U.S. patents while working as a consultant for Ossian Chemical.

He married Darlene Knutzen on April 12, 1947, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cedar Bluffs, Neb.
