RINGLING BROTHERS' CIRCUS. Ringling Brothers came to Dubuque in 1906 and 1908. When this circus came to town in 1916, it was expected the parade would be three miles in length. No traffic was allowed on Main Street. The circus train came in four sections since eighty-nine railroad cars were required to haul all the animals and equipment.
