MCCOY GOLDSMITH SHOP. While a pre-med student at LORAS COLLEGE, Rob McCoy worked part-time at NEWTON JEWELRY COMPANY and found he liked the business. In 1973 he opened his own jewelry business at 261 Main. The facade of the building was restored between 1982-1983, and he lived above the store. Rob McCoy announced his retirement in February 1997. The 1977 Dubuque City Directory listed 261 Main.

The 1983 through 1989 Dubuque City Directory listed McCoy Goldsmiths and Jewelers at the same address.
