LUERKENS, William D. (Dunum, Germany, Oct. 6, 1917--Dubuque, IA, Apr. 11, 1997). After working in Forest City and Palo, Iowa, Luerkens moved to Dubuque where he was a co-owner and founder of A-OK YELLOW CAB COMPANY INC. from 1972-1986, BARGAIN CAR RENTAL from 1981-1993, and the GINGERBREAD HOUSE (THE) from 1986-1991.
