KOCH, John Adam. (St. Louis, MO, Jan. 8, 1830--Unknown). Koch came to Dubuque around 1845 and worked for Hammond & Markle who sent him and two associates with a team and wagon to California in 1849.

Koch returned to Dubuque and took the position of bookkeeper in WESTPHAL AND HINDS. He worked there eighteen years before joining the firm as a partner. He left after twenty-four years with to work for Augustin A. COOPER for two and one-half years before retiring. He moved to Guttenberg in 1890.
