HARKETT, William A. (London, England, Mar. 9, 1848--Dubuque, IA, Sept. 25,1934). Harkett, operator of the HARKETT'S FLORAL NURSERY, the largest nursery for many years in eastern Iowa, became one of the few in the nation in 1880 to earn a living cultivating new varieties of plants.
