DUBUQUE MUTUAL FIRE INSURANCE COMPANY. The Dubuque Mutual Fire Insurance Company was organized in April 1848 with Caleb H. BOOTH president and Mordecai MOBLEY secretary. (1) In 1864 its directors including William G. STEWART and Richard BONSON were advertising for agents to represent the company in the northern part of the state. (2)

The 1868 Guide, Gazetteer and Directory of the Dubuque & Soux (sic) City Railroad stated that this business was located at the corner of Main and 7th. The same address was used in 1870-1871.
