DENLINGER, Virgil. (Mason City, IA, Dec. 20, 1923--Dubuque, IA, Oct. 23, 2003). Denlinger owned and operated Denlinger Insurance Agency for 50 years and was past president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Dubuque. He served in the Army Air Force during WORLD WAR II.

Virgil married Norma Mulligan on October 15, 1949, at NATIVITY CHURCH. Virgil and Norma raised, showed and trained English Pointers and helped organize the original Dubuque Kennel Club. Norma DENLINGER later operated the insurance agency.

Virgil was a member of ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH where he was an usher, Extraordinary Minister and past member of the finance committee. He also was a member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 510. He participated as a member of the Golf Tournament Committee for the Tri-State Independent Blind Society for many years.
