COMET DRIVE-IN (THE). Robert Hevey with assistance from his brother, Paul, opened The Comet just south of South Grandview Avenue in the late 1940s. In the mid-1960s, Roger Rommel bought the restaurant and reopened it as an A & W Drive-In.

The 1951 through 1959 Dubuque City Directory listed 1005 Rockdale.
