CATHOLIC CLUB (THE). A meeting was held at St. Mary's School on December 13, 1892 for the purposes of organizing a Catholic Club affiliated with the National Catholic Young Men's Society. Open to all Catholic young males in the community, the club would have the objectives of moral, intellectual, social and physical advancement of its members. Committees on promotion, constitution, and permanent quarters were developed. (1)

By December 28th the club had attracted three hundred members. (2)

An announcement was made on January 19, 1893 that constitution and bylaws had been written. The purpose of the club was social and would have a spiritual director. Due were six dollars annually. The organization intended to hire a hall for its activities. (3)
