Zepeski began his art lessons at the age of nine with Dan Glassell. The lessons cost twenty-five cents and Glassell provided the supplies. Years later, Zepeski was the art editor of [[DUBUQUE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL]] yearbook.

A self-proclaimed studio artist, Zepeski's sketches are generally produced from photographs. In October 1988, a one-person show of Zepeski's work was featured by the DUBUQUE COUNTY FINE ARTS SOCIETY at the [[CARNEGIE-STOUT PUBLIC LIBRARY]]. His work was also a featured part of ''Faith and Fortunes: An Encyclopedia of Dubuque County''. Beginning in the late 1980s, Zepeski took up the hobby of carving tree trunks into statues of famous people. He became a member of the Dubuque Senior High School Hall of Fame in 1998.
