ROEBER, August. (Hanover, Germany, Jan. 1, 1849--Dubuque, IA, Mar 17, 1919). AUGUST ROEBER was a brick manufacturer in Dubuque. He came to the United States in 1866 and settled in Dubuque in 1870. He began manufacturing brick and eventually was able to produce 1,000,000 annually.

In addition, he was a director of the DUBUQUE AND WISCONSIN BRIDGE COMPANY, UNION TRUST AND SAVINGS BANK, and the IOWA DAIRY COMPANY. (1)
