ORANGE PARK
ORANGE PARK. Once the WASHINGTON NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION was established, the first item of interest was establishing a park for the children of the area. The nearest parks with playground equipment were COMISKEY PARK and JACKSON PARK. (1)
Through the efforts of the Association and its supporters, the park at 1801 Washington was dedicated on July 2, 2007. Supplied with playground equipment, benches, and green space at the corner of 18th and Washington STREETS, the park was given its colorful name because Washington Street was once called Orange Street.
