JOHNSTON, Wayne A. (Champaign, IL, Jan. 4, 1890 --Bloomington, WI, July 3, 1970). Johnston was one of the founders of MEDICAL ASSOCIATES CLINIC PC (THE). A graduate of the University of Michigan, he served from 1919 to 1924 as a roentgenologist and pathologist for Dubuque's Mercy Hospital.

Johnston, with Drs. John B. HELES and Clarence LYNN, founded Medical Associates in 1924. Johnston, also the founder and owner of MIRACLE CAR WASH, retired in 1960.

A member of the DUBUQUE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE and various professional organizations, Johnston served as president of the DUBUQUE BOYS' CLUB and director of the United Fund campaign. For his outstanding work with the Dubuque Boys' Club, Johnston was awarded the Silver Keystone from the Boys' Club of America.
