HOCKING, Melvin F. (Benton, WI, Oct. 24, 1918--Dubuque, IA, Jan. 4, 1997). Hocking, employed at the CARR, ADAMS AND COLLIER COMPANY and later CARADCO, served as the secretary and president of the Bilt-Well Credit Union for many years before retiring in 1988.

He was a member of the Dubuque Bowling Association for sixty years and served on its board of directors for more than forty years. Hocking held the offices of president, secretary and member emeritus of the DUBUQUE BOWLING ASSOCIATION HALL OF FAME and participated in twenty-nine American Bowling Congress national tournaments.
