HEIM, John. (Hockenheim, Germany, 1839--Apr. 3, 1890). Heim came to the United States in 1865 and settled in Dubuque where, in 1866, he worked one year as a foreman for the Douglas-Langworthy Brick Manufacturing Company. He later worked in a similar capacity for Michael Schunk before establishing HEIM BRICK COMPANY in 1868. He was succeeded by his son, John L. HEIM.
