FIVE POINTS. Well-known site at the intersection of Elm, 20th, Rhomberg and Garfield STREETS where a building contained a hotel and the Five Points Saloon. In 1916 during PROHIBITION in Iowa the saloon became Home's Place, a popular spot for socializing and card playing. The saloon returned with the end of Prohibition. The building was demolished in the 1960s, and the site became a gas station.
