BARRETT, Norbert (Monsignor). (Britt, IA-Mason City, IA, May 18, 1983). Former rector of SAINT RAPHAEL'S CATHEDRAL. Barrett, a LORAS COLLEGE graduate, became a history instructor at Loras in 1945. He served as academic dean and registrar at the college from 1947 until 1956 and vice-president from 1951 through 1956. Barrett was the rector of St. Raphael's from 1963 until August 1982 when he retired. A former president of the DUBUQUE COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, Barrett was a member of Dubuque's 1976 Bicentennial Committee.
