LACY, Benjamin William
LACY, Benjamin William. (Locke, NY, Mar. 12, 1849-Dubuque, IA, Sept. 28, 1912). Judge. Lacy settled in Dubuque in 1872 and became a member of the firm of Adams and Robinson in 1873. In 1875 Lacy was appointed a circuit judge to fill a vacancy and then won election to the position. He was reelected once before resigning to re-enter private practice.
Lacy served as president of the Iowa Trust and Savings Bank, FINLEY HOSPITAL board, director of the Union Electric Company and the KEY CITY GAS COMPANY, and a member of the board of trustees of the CARNEGIE-STOUT PUBLIC LIBRARY. His home later became Hoffmann Mortuary.
