CARKEEK, Thomas. (Reduth, County Cornwall, England, Mar. 29, 1843-Clearwater, FL, May 19, 1927). Architect. In 1882 Carkeek moved to Dubuque and found employment as an architect with the CARR, RYDER AND WHEELER COMPANY. Self-taught, Carkeek remained with the company until 1891 when he opened his own business.
