SCAT. Popular card game played primarily by German immigrants. Competition held throughout Dubuque, but primarily at ST. MARY'S CASINO, led to the best card players traveling to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for the annual National Scat Tournament arranged by Germans living in the Midwest.
