KLAUER, Jacob. (Dubuque, IA, 1876--Cassville, WI, June 11, 1946). The son of Jacob Klauer and his life Catherine, Jacob and his family moved to Marcus, Iowa. There he learned the printing trade working on the Remsen Bell. He later became a linotype operator for the Dubuque Herald.

Klauer moved to Cassville, Wisconsin where he founded the Cassville Record. He operated this for about twenty-five years. He was later employed by a newspaper publisher in Lancaster, Wisconsin.
