KUTSCH, Nicholas (Bedorf, Germany, 1928-- ). Nicholas served in the German Revolution of 1848 and then emigrated to America. He arrived in Dubuque in 1851 where he was employed as a carpenter and served at No. 1 Engine House. In 1859 he assisted in the dedication of the old TURNER HALL.

Nicholas married Helena Klauer on May 5, 1856. They had twelve children including Anna, Frank, Joseph, Charles, William, Robert, Luisa, Victor, August, Ottillia, Albert and Helen. The youngest and the oldest, both girls, died in infancy.
