H. C. TILLINGHAST & COMPANY. Beginning in 1875, when the branch house was established in Dubuque, the company was a dealer in hides, tallow, wool and furs at 280 Main street and 281 Iowa street. It was the only exclusive house of that kind in Dubuque.

On July 22, 1879 their hides warehouse was destroyed by fire. (1)

The 1880 Dubuque City Directory listed 281 Iowa.
