SKATE COUNTRY. Skate Country opened in 1972 as part of a chain. The 1977 through 1989 Dubuque City Directory listed Highway 20 west.

The 1993 Dubuque City Directory listed 4390 Dodge.

In 1996 it was announced that Slumberland had purchased the building and would be converting it into a furniture store. Owners of Skate Country had leased the building on Dodge, but would own a new one. (1)
