WILSON, George H. (Tama County, IA, April 25, 1926--Dubuque, IA, Mar. 27, 2010). Wilson was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 234. He worked on highway construction in the 1960s and 1970s and was one of those employed to work on the building of the FLOODWALL.

Wilson donated over 2,500 hours helping to construct the Dubuque Soccer Complex moving over half of the 54,000 yards of dirt required to complete the project. He then donated two additional years maintaining the fields. His help was recognized by a plaque at the field. Wilson also volunteered his expertise as a heavy-equipment operator at the DUBUQUE ARBORETUM AND BOTANICAL GARDENS.
